For sale is a rare piece of Idora Park history. This could be one of only a few in existence. This rotary bus sign, obviously comes from a Youngstown, Ohio area bus that made the route to Idora Park many thousands of times. Some of the provenance for this being in the area of Idora Park are some of the many bus stopped named on the roll of the sign. The following list of stops are in order as they roll through the sign.
All the streets and location are all around Youngstown and Idora Park. The sign itself is made of steel. It measures 29 ½ long, 10tall and 4 thick. The cranking handle which is 3 in diameter appears to be made out of brass with nicke lplating. The outside of the box has original crackled light green paint.
There is rusting to the outside of the cabinet where it mounted into the bus frame. There is a glass widow on the front of the sign and nothing covering the back. The canvas scroll itself is in as found condition, not cleaned in anyway. Therefore it smells a little musty.I estimate that this has been sitting for many years.
