Vintage 1940's GAS STATION POLE for porcelain SIGN Octagon shape REFINISHED Oil. 1940's GAS STATION SIGN POLE. AWESOME OCTAGON SHAPE, TAPERED AND REFINISHED IN BRIGHT WHITE. IT CAN HOLD A 6FT. Up for sale is a vintage GAS STATION SIGN POLE.

We acquired this piece from a Lancaster co. He had the pole sandblasted and refinished.

It is refinished in a bright white and has great color and shine. He was going to hang a gas company sign on it but, never got around to it. He had the pole refinished and ready but, just never finished the project. It is a very nice vintage 8 sided octagon pole, tapered and has electrical wire access holes. It can hold up to a 6ft.

It has some minor scratches, light surface rust and small scuffs. The owner had it refinished and it just sat on a trailer at his home. Could have been from it being moved around.

It just needs some minor touch up work to make it new again. Ll down to view/enlarge pics and use as a condition report.

We pro pack all of our items- Shrink wrap, multiple layers of bubble wrap, 3M packing tape, fragile stickers and re-inforce boxes with additional layers of cardboard for x-tra strength. We use new packing materials and new boxes when needed. We recycle boxes when they are in good condition. And we personally blanket wrap deliver within 250 miles of Philly, PA and sometimes beyond. In our listing descriptions we disclose any damage and take lots of pictures so buyers can see the condition. Please note our items are vintage and average 50 years in age. They are not brand new. We are basically die hard collectors of Mid century, Danish modern, Industrial/Re-purposed design, vintage advertising, petroliana gas/oil and anything odd or unique. It is our passion and we love what we do. We are always on the hunt!

Our primary business is an auto detail/auto body shop which we have owned and operated since 1994. So when we started collecting Mid Century design in 2003 we already had all the tools needed for restoration- repair and refinishing experience, pro spraying equipment/tools, hot steam extractors, cleaners, odor removal treatments etc.

We use all pro grade materials like M. Campbell, Mohawk and top shelf tung oil for wood. We use R-M Diamont and Dupont auto finishes for metal and fiberglass. We refinish to the original specs of each piece. For example, if a piece was sprayed with a lacquer gloss finish or a hand rubbed tung oil finish that is how we do it.

When we refinish we maintain the original integrity of the finish as the creator/designer would have intended it to be when it came off the shrowroom floor. If a piece is in excellent vintage condition we leave it alone. What we don't do we send out to our specialists- upholstery, caning/rattan, metal work/welding, specialty wood repair/cabinetry.
