She has never been removed from her box until today when I had to take pictures of her. She is New in Box. She has Never been played with. Her clothes have Never even been taken off.
She has been kept in the box in my cedar chest. She is truly a Collector's Dream Doll! Her White Body is signed by Pleasant Rowland and says Pleasant Rowland 1993 with a hand drawn heart symbol.
Samantha has been stored in my cedar chest since I bought her and has never been taken out of the box except to be signed by Pleasant Rowland, until today. She was the first Pleasant Company doll I bought as an unsigned doll and came with a paperback book. My neighbor worked for the Pleasant Company in Middleton, WI. The Pleasant Company announced one day that they would have a "Bring Your Dolll to Work Day" and Pleasant Rowland would be coming in to sign dolls for the employees. I had my neighbor bring my Samantha Doll in to have her signed by Pleasant Rowland. The year she was signed by Pleasant Rowland at that exciting employee event was 1993, as inscribed under Pleasant Rowland's name, in addition to the heart. Samantha is Very RARE because she is a OOAK (One of a Kind) Doll and was signed in 1993 at an employee signing event. To find another doll like this would be almost impossible. She has the original sticker on her right hand that says Made in Western Germany. Her skirt has a cloth tag that says Made in West Germany for Pleasant Company Doll contains all new synthetic fiber 1986 Pleasant Company Inc. The included Pleasant Company Catalog describes her, Samantha has sparkling brown eyes that twinkle when they open and close. Brush her long curly hair and tie it up in a big, beautiful bow like Victorian girls wore. Samantha's taffeta checked dress has a fashionable pleated front and a dropped waist circled in burgundy satin. Her matching bow holds back her thick brown ringlets. She wears long black stockings and black shoes with ankle straps.I have also included her accessories - Samantha's burgundy plush hat trimmed in ribbons of rose, dove grey and gold, her golden ribbon and heart brooch and her rose velvet purse with golden chain to slip over her wrist. Tucked inside her purse is a beautiful handkerchief with embroidered flowers.
Samantha comes with a Soft cover "Meet Samantha" book. I have also included a copy of the Pleasant Company Catalog that features a picture of Samantha on the cover. In 1987, I bought signed and numbered Molly and Kirsten Pleasant Company dolls.
I also have signed and numbered Pleasant Company dolls KIRSTEN and MOLLY that are original, NEW in BOX with Certificates of Authenticity. I will also be listing in the upcoming days a MIB Felicity and Addy that are not signed but have never been removed from their boxes.
