Vintage Jointed Wooden Monkey Signed Kay Bojesen (Sp) Denmark

  

The Denmark Monkey is A. 17.5 from head to toe, jointed arms, paws, legs, feet, and head... Appears to be different kinds of wood or wood stains in the construction I. Feet, stomach around belly button, and oval from ear to ear containing inset eyes.. Wear seems to be consistent with age I.

Minor minor white paint spatters, minor minor nicks, tiny wood splinter loss on head just above top of left ear when monkey is looking at you straight on... All original parts accounted for but there is one old'unsuccessful' repair at the joint of the left arm and paw which I formerly said "I believe can be close to or even seamlessly repaired in the right hands"... I now want to amend that statement, delete original picture #10, and add 3 new pictures now making 12 pictures in all... Captions for new pictures 10, 11, and 12 are as follows: bottom row third from right caption 10... View of male and female closure parts above and below the banana... Bottom row second from right caption 11... After quickly purchasing the Denmark Monkey I briefly wondered why the arm closure part did not mate up tight with the paw closure part, but since it didn't, and therefore couldn't be displayed as I wished it to be, it simply remained in storage as a future'project' until I moved back to Philadelphia.... A faint light spot, showed, upon further inspection, an old clean barely visible crack all the way across near the very top of the paw, which I can only imagine now, a previous owner had broken, instantly became heartsick, then immediately, and unfortunately, in a hurry, glued up the split, and further unfortunately, before inserting the paw on the bottom of the arm and making reentry, and proper mating, impossible...

Bottom row right caption #12..... You can now see the outline of the closure that once locked the paw in... But that now blocks the paw from mating up again...
