18TH CENTURY RHODE ISLAND CHIPPENDALE ANTIQUE BLANKET CHEST IN OCHRE COLORED SPONGE PAINT DECORATION SIGNED J. We are honored to offer you this wonderful 18th century Rhode Island ochre colored sponge painted pine and chestnut blanket chest signed J. This is a truly fascinating piece in a two over four drawer simulated and actual drawer format. It possesses its original tear drop pull brasses with cotter pin fasteners. The chest has dovetailed case with transitions and a dovetailed bracket base.

All the drawer faces and its top are nicely molded. The paint is all original and exceptionally well preserved. We note an old iron mark on its top otherwise just fantastic. The drawer's, interior base, and back panels are all hand chamfered chestnut.
